Concrete Batching Plant Installation Step To Step

The concrete batching plant installation is a complex and highly professional task, and it is necessary to follow standard procedures to ensure the safety and normal operation of the equipment.

concrete batching plant installation

The following are the detailed concrete batching plant installation steps:
1. Preliminary preparations
- Site planning and foundation construction
Site selection requirements: Select an area with flat terrain, good drainage and far away from residential areas (to reduce the impact of noise and dust), and ensure that transport vehicles can enter and exit easily.
Foundation design: According to the model of the concrete batching plant and the manufacturer's requirements, design a concrete foundation (usually a reinforced concrete structure), and the foundation bearing capacity must meet the equipment weight and operating load (need to be verified by the design institute).
Foundation construction: Cast the foundation according to the design drawings, embed anchor bolts or embedded parts, ensure position accuracy (error does not exceed ±5mm), and maintain until the strength meets the standard (generally ≥C30 concrete, maintenance for 28 days).

- Equipment inventory and inspection
Check the list provided by the concrete batching plant manufacturer to check the main machine, batching machine, belt conveyor, cement silo, control system and other components for defects or transportation damage.
Focus on checking the quality and integrity of key components (such as mixing host lining, mixing shaft seals, belt conveyor rollers, etc.).

- Installation plan formulation
The concrete batching plant manufacturer's technicians or professional installation team shall prepare the installation plan to clarify the installation sequence, personnel division of labor and safety protection measures.
Prepare lifting equipment (such as cranes, forklifts), tools (wrenches, levels, multimeters, etc.) and safety protection supplies (safety helmets, safety belts, etc.).

2. Main installation steps
1). Host installation
- Positioning and leveling: hoist the mixing host (such as forced mixer) to the specified position of the foundation, use the spirit level to adjust the level (error ≤ 0.5mm/m), and fix it with anchor bolts.
- Installation of connecting parts: install the feed hopper, discharge door, lubrication oil circuit and cooling system (if any) on the host to ensure that each component moves flexibly without jamming.
- Electrical wiring: connect the host motor, sensors (such as level meters, temperature sensors) and control lines according to the circuit diagram, and do a good job of waterproofing and dustproofing.
2). Batching machine installation
- Positioning and fixing: hoist the batching machine (including aggregate bin and weighing device) to the designated position beside the main machine, adjust the level and fix it with anchor bolts to ensure that the discharge port of each bin is accurately connected with the belt conveyor.
- Weighing system debugging: calibrate the sensor of the aggregate weighing bucket, perform no-load and loaded calibration (error ≤±1%), and test whether the opening/closing of the bucket doors of each aggregate bin is synchronous and smooth.
3). Conveying system installation
- Belt conveyor installation:
Lay the belt conveyor bracket according to the designed slope (generally ≤18°), adjust the horizontality and straightness of the bracket (deviation ≤3mm/m), and install the belt roller, roller and belt after fixing.
- Tension the belt (adjusted by the tensioning device) to ensure that it does not deviate during operation (deviation ≤5mm), and install protective devices such as belt deviation switch.
- Screw conveyor installation: used for cement, fly ash and other powder materials transportation, it needs to be kept horizontal or installed at the designed angle, and both ends are sealed and connected with the powder silo and the main machine feed port, and the gap between the spiral blade and the shell is checked (≤2mm).
4). Powder silo and dust removal system installation
- Powder silo hoisting: hoist the cement silo, fly ash silo, etc. to the foundation, fix them with anchor bolts and install windproof cables (especially in windy areas), and install safety valves, level meters and dust removal filters on the top of the silo.
- Dust removal system installation: install bag dust collectors above the main machine, batching machine and powder silo top, connect dust removal ducts, ensure air volume matching (dust removal efficiency ≥99%), and reduce dust emissions.
5). Control system installation
- Control cabinet in place: install the control cabinet in the operating room or rainproof position, connect the power cables and signal cables of each device, and make wiring marks according to the drawings.
- Software debugging: Install the concrete batching plant control software, import the mix ratio parameters, test the linkage control of each device (such as the automated process of batching, mixing, and unloading), and ensure the logic is correct.

3. Auxiliary system installation
- Water supply and additive system
Install the water tank, water pump and water pipeline, connect to the main machine water weighing bucket, and calibrate the water weighing accuracy (error ≤±1%).
Install the additive storage tank, metering pump and pipeline to ensure that the additive is leak-free and the metering is accurate.
- Installation of the air system
Install the air compressor, air tank and air pipeline, connect to the pneumatic components such as the unloading door and the batching machine bucket door, test the air pressure (generally 0.6-0.8MPa) and air tightness to prevent leakage from affecting the action accuracy.

4. Debugging and trial operation
- Single machine debugging
Start each device (such as the main machine, belt conveyor, screw conveyor) one by one, check whether the operation is stable, whether the motor current is normal, and whether there is abnormal noise or vibration.
Test the accuracy of each weighing system (carry out no-load and loaded calibration more than 3 times) and adjust it to meet the requirements.
- Linkage test run
Carry out no-load linkage test run according to the production process (batch → conveying → mixing → unloading), check whether the connection between each link is smooth, and whether the control system responds in time.
Carry out material test run (produce 10-20 trays of concrete according to the minimum mix ratio), test the slump and workability of concrete, and record the equipment operation parameters (such as mixing time, energy consumption).
- Safety and environmental protection acceptance
Check whether the emergency stop button, overload protection, lightning protection grounding (grounding resistance ≤ 4Ω) and other safety devices are effective.
Test whether dust and noise emissions meet environmental protection standards (dust ≤ 30mg/m³, factory boundary noise ≤ 85dB), and if unqualified, rectification is required (such as adding soundproof covers and optimizing dust removal systems).

5. Acceptance and training
- Manufacturer acceptance: The installation team and the concrete batching plant manufacturer's technical personnel jointly accept and sign the acceptance report after confirming that the equipment performance meets the standards.
- Operation training: Theoretical and practical training (including equipment operation, troubleshooting, and safety regulations) is provided to operators, and they can only take up their posts after passing the assessment.
- Data transfer: Hand over technical data such as equipment manuals, circuit diagrams, installation records, acceptance reports, and establish equipment files.

6. Precautions
- Safety first: Lifting operations must be performed by certified personnel, safety belts must be worn when working at high altitudes, and warning areas must be set up at the installation site.
- Accuracy control: The installation accuracy of key components (such as weighing systems and host levelness) directly affects the quality of concrete and requires strict calibration.
- Weather influence: Avoid installation in severe weather such as heavy rain and strong winds, and rainproof and drainage measures must be taken during foundation construction.
- After-sales service: After installation, agree with the concrete batching plant manufacturer on the warranty period and after-sales service terms to ensure timely response when equipment fails.

Through the above steps, the concrete batching plant can be installed in a standardized manner and operate stably, laying the foundation for subsequent concrete production. If a large or special model concrete batching plant is involved, the installation process needs to be adjusted according to the manufacturer's special plan.
